ATAS-120A Active Tuning Antenna System (Automatic)
Yaesu’s patented ATAS™ (Active Tuning Antenna System) makes the ATAS-120A a unique mobile antenna designed for use with Yaesu’s mobile and portable transceivers, such as the FT-891, FTX-1F (with 13.8V DC Supply), FTX-1optima and earlier models like the FT-857 and FT-450.
It provides 7/14/21/28/50 Mhz bands coverage with automatic motorised tuning. (144/430MHz coverage with the ASBK-1 Radial Kit)
Note: The ATAS-120A is designed specifically for use with Yaesu transceivers equipped for the “ATAS” system, and is NOT capable of automatic operation with other transceiver models.
The ATAS-120A utilises a motorised tuning system which resonates the radiating element for lowest SWR without the need for expensive, inconvenient monoband resonating whip assemblies.
This amazing antenna is designed to mount directly onto a standard mobile antenna mount (not supplied) which is compatible with its Type M (SO-239) base connector.
Using control signals from the transceiver\’s microprocessor received via the coaxial cable, the ATAS internal motor adjusts the radiator length for the best SWR.
For base operation (i.e. balcony) VHF/UHF performance can be enhanced by the installation of the optional ATBK-100 Antenna Base Kit.
